Soccer cleats for wide feet: every wide model we could verify

Short version: if you have wide feet and want a soccer cleat that is sold in a wide width (not just "runs roomy"), New Balance is the brand to look at. On 24 October 2026 we opened 35 soccer cleat product pages on Zappos. Only New Balance pages listed a Wide option. That covers 10 adult models and 4 kids models, for firm ground (FG), turf (TF) and indoor (IN). Every Nike, adidas, PUMA and Diadora cleat we checked listed Medium only.

The table updates from our database, so it shows the exact labels each page used on the day we checked.

Adult wide soccer cleats (unisex sizing)

How to read it:

• "Wide" with no letters. Most New Balance soccer pages just say Medium or Wide. The Tekela Team Low Laced FG V5 is the exception: its page prints "2E - Wide" next to "D - Medium". That's the usual men's US scale (what 2E means).
• Extra Wide on one model. The Furon Team FG V8 page lists Medium, Wide and Extra Wide. It was the only cleat in our check with a third width. Our table counts it as "wide" because the page gives no letter for "Extra Wide", but the exact label is in the Widths listed column.
• Unisex sizes. These pages show both scales. The New Balance listings say measurements were taken on "US Men's 9, Women's 10.5", so the women's size is 1.5 above the men's number.
• Colourways differ. Zappos can list different widths for different colours of the same cleat. Before you order, check that Wide is offered in your colour and size.

Which one for which surface

The suffix in the name tells you the surface. Here is what the product pages say:

Pro vs Team: the two versions use different uppers. The 442 Pro FG V3 has "a lightweight microfiber upper featuring quilted details" and the 442 Pro TF V3 has a leather upper. The 442 Team FG V3 has "a high-grade synthetic upper". For a wide foot, the upper material counts as well as the width label, because leather and soft microfiber usually give more than stiff synthetics. Treat that as a rule of thumb, not a promise.

Furon vs Tekela vs 442: these are New Balance's three soccer lines. Furon is pitched as the speed boot ("Designed for fast performance", "extended strike zone", T-shaped studs). Tekela is pitched as the control boot (the Tekela V5 Laced is "engineered for players who thrive on precision and control" and has "a single-piece knitted collar"). 442 is the classic lace-up look with a "U-throat collar and floating tongue".

Kids' and youth wide soccer cleats

The kids pages show M and W, with no letter count. They come in Little Kid/Big Kid sizes. The 442 Team FG V3 kids listing notes that its measurements were taken on "size 6 Big Kid, width W". Kids' feet change fast, so measure before every season.

What we checked that only came in Medium

So you don't have to check them yourself: on 24 October 2026, the Zappos page for each of these cleats listed one width only (Medium, D - Medium, B - Medium or M):

• New Balance: Furon Pro FG V8, Furon Team MG V8, Furon Dispatch FG V7+, Tekela Magique FG V4+, Tekela Team Low MG V5, 442 Academy FG V2, 442V2 Team TF. Within New Balance, the wide option comes on specific models, not across the whole range.
• adidas: Copa Mundial FG, Copa Club Pure 3 FG/MG, Copa Gloro II FG, Copa Pure IV Club FG/MG, Copa Pure 3 Club Turf
• Nike: Legend 10 Academy, Phantom 6 Low Club, Vapor 16 Club, Jr. Mercurial Vapor 16 Club, Jr. Tiempo Legend 10 Club MG
• PUMA: Future 7 Play FG/AG, Future 9 Match FG/AG (men's and women's)
• Diadora: Maximus Academy FG

Some of these may have a roomier fit than others, but no retailer page listed a wide width for them, so we don't list them as wide.

Fitting tips for wide feet

• Try cleats on with your match socks (and shin-guard sleeves if you wear them), late in the day.
• Leave a thumb's width at the toe, and make sure the widest part of your foot sits at the widest part of the boot without bulging over the soleplate.
• Lace loosely across the forefoot. The 442's U-throat and floating tongue, and the Tekela V5 Laced's lacing, let you adjust the fit across the forefoot.
• If you have pain, numbness or bunions, talk to a podiatrist. A wider cleat helps with fit. It isn't a treatment.
